In continuation of its efforts to resolve land-related disputes and promote peaceful coexistence in Kaduna State, the management of the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), led by the Director General, Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, today engaged with two parties over a disputed plot of land in Ungwan Muazu, Kaduna South LGA.
The land was originally allocated by the Kaduna State Government to one of the parties several years ago but was subsequently acquired and sold through a Local Government layout, resulting in a dispute.
Following extensive deliberations with the parties, KADGIS is reviewed the matter with a view to facilitating an amicable and lasting resolution that will provide clarity and bring the dispute to a permanent end.
In a related engagement, KADGIS also met with representatives of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to deliberate on similar land-related issues affecting the company.
The management proposed measures aimed at achieving a sustainable resolution, while ensuring that TCN can effectively carry out its statutory responsibilities and continue providing essential services to the people of Kaduna State.
KADGIS remains committed to dialogue, transparency and stakeholder engagement as key tools for resolving land disputes, protecting legitimate interests and promoting peaceful coexistence across Kaduna State.
